Everything Within a 15-Minute Drive of Our House
When you’re on holiday and staying somewhere new, it’s natural to want to get your bearings and know what’s nearby. To make your stay as smooth as possible, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite go-to local spots, all within about a 15-minute drive from the house.
Terranora Bakehouse
Terranora Bakehouse bakes the best sourdough in the Northern Rivers (trust us!), along with incredible pies and pastries.
We love their sourdough so much that we always have a fresh loaf waiting for our guests on arrival, paired with homemade marmalade and honey from our own hive. If you’re craving more bakery treats or looking to stock up on supplies during your stay, make sure to pay them a visit.
You’ll find the bakery in the Pavilions Marketplace, which also includes a pharmacy, petrol station and butcher, among other stores.
The Oyster Shed
A shoutout to our local oyster purveyor, The Oyster Shed in Tweed Heads.
Just a short drive from the house, they offer freshly shucked oysters and seafood that you can enjoy on-site overlooking the Terranora Broadwater, or take away to sample back at the house.
Open Thursday to Sunday, they’re a must-visit for seafood lovers during your stay.
Potager
We’re spoiled to have multi-award-winning restaurant Potager as our close neighbours in Carool.
Only five minutes from the property, Potager isn’t just close, it’s exceptional. Their garden-to-table philosophy, warm service and fresh local produce make dining here truly memorable.
Spar Shopping Centre, Tweed Heads
Conveniently located just off the highway on your way up to Carool, the Spar Shopping Centre is a great stop to pick up your holiday supplies.
You’ll find a thoughtfully curated range of fresh produce, gourmet cheeses and even bunches of flowers. Surrounding the store are a handful of other useful shops, making it the perfect one-stop spot for your essentials.
