Savour The Tweed is packed with culinary experiences this October, but if you’re a coffee lover, there’s one event that absolutely belongs on your agenda. From Bean to Cup: The Farmer to the Roaster is scheduled for Friday 24 October and will be co-hosted by none other than our very own Zeta Grealy, of Zeta’s Coffee.
Held at Bastion Lane Espresso in Uki, this immersive tasting workshop will take you deep into the story of coffee in the Tweed, from its roots in rich local soil to a beautifully brewed cup in a cafe setting.
About the Hosts
We’re proud to share that Zeta Grealy, your host here at Origin House, will lead the workshop alongside Gary Wall, the founder of Bastion Lane Espresso. Together, they’ve helped shape the region’s thriving coffee culture—Zeta as a grower, coffee judge and educator, and Gary as a barista, roaster and cafe owner.
With over 30 years of experience running a coffee farm in the Tweed, Zeta will share her insights, knowledge and passion from a truly unique perspective on the topic.
Gary, a roast master and coffee expert, has transformed the heritage-listed post office in Uki into a beloved hub for the coffee community, earning him local legend status.
About the Event
From Bean to Cup goes far beyond a simple tasting, this is a hands-on, interactive workshop designed to give attendees a deeper appreciation for the art and science of coffee. Whether you’re a budding barista or simply love your morning brew, you’ll walk away with a deeper appreciation for the world of coffee.
During the workshop, you’ll:
- Learn more about growing coffee in the Tweed
- Discover the journey of a coffee bean from green to roasted
- Taste a variety of locally and internationally sourced beans
- Sample several brew types: Moccamaster, Aeropress, espresso and plunger
- Enjoy fresh pastries from Apex Dining and Bread Social
All this, while sipping unlimited barista-made coffee in one of the Tweed’s most character-filled cafes.
